Millennials Want Builder That Do Not Cut Corners When It Comes To Their Safety

July 26 2018 by Steve Conboy

Given the choice to live in safer high density wood framed building that the builder defended for his workers during construction from fire and made the building safer for future occupants- Millennials will choose that building every time.

As the largest generation in U.S. history, millennials represent a significant opportunity for multifamily housing. This generation of nearly 80 million people grew up with technology and expect to have access to the latest connected tech features via smartphone or voice command.

A recent survey of 1,000 U.S. multifamily renters conducted by lock manufacturer Schlage and Wakefield Research showed that millennials are overwhelmingly willing to pay more for an apartment equipped with automated or connected devices. The survey indicated that millennials are even willing to sacrifice other amenities, such as a parking space, to live in a smart apartment.

The next generation of smart devices, such as energy-efficient lighting controls and intelligent thermostats that learn to adjust to the occupant’s daily routine, gives tenants the ultimate control over their own environment. Also, these amenities can generate substantial efficiencies in energy use that can help earn LEED certification and control operating costs while appealing to environmentally conscious customers.

Soon Millennials will know how much carbon their builder defended from fire with M-Fire. Now they will know the building they live in is not only safer it’s a carbon bank.

Tech is set to disrupt the construction industry. Builders have always built to code minimum to save money for granite counters but that game is over. Venture capitalists invested $1.05 billion in global construction technology (ConTech) startups in the first half of 2018, a record high. 2018’s investment volume is already up nearly 30 percent over the 2017 total – and there’s still another six months left. Many need sensor technologies are about to lower risk premiums and even record to defend construction defect and negligence litigation cases. Some new tech is even going to have an impact on the success rate of earlier fire and flood elimination.

M-Fire Suppression Inc. is a fire technology company redefining risk management for the construction industry in all wood framed buildings and wild fire defense with clean fire inhibitors.
